This is the first Malaysian university-owned programme in Malaysia to foster and bridge the industry-academia gap and accelerate commercialisation efforts. As UNITEN’s Industry Scouts, successful partners can express their interest to identify new opportunities for commercial partnerships, co-development, licensing or acquisition, as a part of our UNITEN’s Open Innovation initiatives towards the translation of our technological innovations into wealth creation.
The step to be UISNP’s market scouts are simple and involves the following:

The UISN Programme will register interested and qualified industry partners via a selection process. The interested industry scouts will go through an application process and assessment with URND’s Commercialisation Unit and approved by URND’s Managing Director.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must show demonstrated skills & expertise
- Applicant must have established network among relevant stakeholders
- Applicant must be a registered enterprise/ SMEs under Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)
- All applicants must express interest via submission of application form to URND.
- Successful applicant will be required to enter into an ISNP agreement with URND.
- ISNP member scouts will abide to the terms and conditions of the agreement and programme.
- ISNP membership will be on renewal basis based on the performance of the partner scouts.
- Remuneration terms to Industry Scouts should be on case by case basis depending on

- Project value
- Industry scout’s role and facilitation scope.
