Background
The Institute of Nuclear Energy (INE) at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is a pivotal initiative aimed at advancing Malaysia's capabilities in nuclear science and technology. Established in May 2023, INE is dedicated to bolstering research, education, and industry collaboration in the nuclear field. INE was inaugurated to support Malaysia's aspirations toward a low-carbon future, aligning with the National Energy Policy's Low Carbon Aspirations 2050.
Vision
To be the national thought leader in nuclear science and energy, advancing Malaysia toward technological self-reliance and a sustainable energy future.
Mission
- To lead impactful research, innovation, and education in nuclear energy, materials, radiation, and superconducting technologies.
- To represent UNITEN and TNB in national and international nuclear initiatives and policymaking platforms.
- To drive public awareness, industry engagement, and evidence-based policy advocacy in nuclear energy.
- To foster a new generation of nuclear professionals empowered with cutting-edge knowledge, ethical responsibility, and global competitiveness.
Our Talent
We are a group of nuclear enthusiasts, united by a vision of a sustainable and prosperous future, powered by safe and responsible nuclear energy.
INE focuses on six specialized domains:
